Steven - The Awakening

It is recommended that, for this portion of my page, you have the following 2 songs handy: "Years Ago" and "The Awakening", both by Alice Cooper, from his "Welcome To My Nightmare" release, 1975. The images used here are based on those 2 songs, and while the images and the lyrics below are both somewhat understandable without the music, the music helps set the tone more so for them. Wait for all the images to load, and then start music.

As a personal aside, I feel that Alice Cooper is, without a doubt, one of the best musicians, past, present, and future, capable of delving into The Darkness and insanity of the mind. Whether you make it back out or not is entirely dependent on you, but he provides one hell of a road trip there. I only hope that my images fit the mood of the music. This is something I've been toying with for a couple months now, and have finally gotten around to shooting the images for it. I hope I do it justice. So sit back, get the songs ready to play, and turn off the lights...

Here I go again
Up and down alone

All my friends went home
years ago

All my toys are broken

So am I inside
The Carnival has closed
years ago

I'm a little boy

No,
I'm a great big man

No,
Let's be a little boy,
For a little while longer,
Maybe an hour?

No, Steven,
We have to go back now

Isn't that our mom calling?

"Steven!"

"Steven!"

"Steven, come home!"

"Steven, come home!"

I wake up in the basement

I'm so hungry,

I'm dry.

I must be here sleepwalking,

Musn't I?

Getting up from my easy chair looking for my wife following

					A trail of crimson

Spots that lead into the night.

Suddenly I realize,
I see it all through real eyes these crimson spots are dripping
					From my hand

And oh.... it makes me feel like a man...

"Years Ago" and "The Awakening" both from the 1975 Alice Cooper release, "Welcome To My Nightmare", reprinted here without permission.
